Saint John Plessington Catholic College has had its executive head teacher, Tom Quinn, alongside the college’s Operations Director Sally Mitchell and Chair of Governors John Williams resign all on the same day.
The secondary school and sixth form college is located in the heart of Bebington, in the Wirral Borough of the Liverpool Region. The news has came as a shock to many as Tom Quinn helped turn the struggling school around and make it one of the best schools in the country. The school became renowned as a prime example of quality in education and has continually been winning countless awards throughout the years since he has been at the helm of the school.
The school has 1,450 pupils aged 11 to 18 and over 200 staff. The college is apart of the Diocese of Shrewsbury and was founded in 1870.
Plessington Head teacher Simon Rylance will currently fill the void in Mr Quinn’s sudden absence.
